Request A Performance

The First Wave Hip Hop Theater Ensemble is a groundbreaking collective of spoken word poets, emcees, dancers, singers, actors, and hip hop artists attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The ensemble is the performance company of the First Wave Hip Hop and Urban Arts Learning Community, founded by the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI). First Wave is an emerging leader on the national hip-hop theater scene, pushing the boundaries of poetry, dance, theater, and other performance arts.

In the midst of a restructuring process that our First Wave Program is going through in order to strengthen all our pillars and deepen our bridge building with our student scholars, the UW community and beyond, we regret to share out that we will not be able to take on anymore First Wave performance requests in our office this 2017-2018 academic school year. If however, you are connected to a First Wave student and would like to reach out to one or more of them personally to assist in your mission work in the classroom or community, please feel free to do so.
