A UW-Madison Badger who graduated in 2013, Cydney M. Edwards earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her certificate in Chican@ and Latin@ studies. She is also an alumna of the second cohort of the First Wave Hip Hop & Urban Arts Scholarship Program.
“I am beyond excited to return to Madison, and each development that I hear about since my graduation 9 years ago, excites and inspires me to get back quicker and get to work,” Edwards says.
As a student at UW, Edwards served as Black Student Union Vice President, Social Chair of The Zeta Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, member of Impact, Vice President of The National Pan Hellenic Council, and several other key roles.
In her most recent role, she serves as Program Director of The Miami-Dade Urban Debate League as well as Education Associate with Young Chicago Authors. In addition to those roles, she also works with the Chicago nonprofit PepRally Takeover.

- Relearning Madison as a city
