The core of Spoken Word in the Schools is our ongoing spoken word clubs, which meet weekly at every major Madison public high school. Spoken Word in the schools club meetings are part-writing circle, part-freestyle cipher, and part-vibe session. Facilitated by a teacher and a leading Madison poet-mentor, the spoken word groups are an avenue for artistic self-expression and academic growth, as student poets speak their truth about the world around them and discover the power of language, history, and the arts.
