JUST BUST!
Back on Friday Feb. 10th!
JUST BUST! is back for 2012, presented by OMAI/First Wave. Once again, we get to sit back and enjoy the most fabu-crack-tacular open mic in Madison! As usually, sign up starts at 8:30 pm, show at 9:00 pm. 15 slots, and they fill up quick so come early! Also usual, we have an amazing feature to bless the mic, it’s First Wave’s own Dianna Harris!

Dianna is a mixed media artist from the city of Chicago. She began writing at a very young age, completing her first novel at 12. She has been performing since she was 3, so when she found a poetry slam in high school, her talents soon landed her at the national teen poetry slam 3 out of the 4 years of her high school career –the last by beating over 400 other poets to be on the all star team. She then went on to participate in First Wave where her talents would be further cultivated. She plans to take her knack for visual media into the film world to create social change.
Passing The Mic Came & Went. If you missed it, you missed out!
From the youth poets showing everyone how it’s done to the Def Poets lighting up stages big and small, from the wisdom, beauty, and power of Sonia Sanchez and Danny Simmons to the brilliance and comedy of Robbie Q and Shanny Jean, Passing The Mic was a complete success! Thank you to all the artists, audiences, and partners at the Wisconsin Book Festival for an excellent time!
